A little preparation can make your first virtual weight-loss visit smoother and more useful. Use this checklist before you log on.
Your first visit is where your provider learns your story and decides, with you, on next steps. Gathering a few things ahead of time helps you make the most of it.
Before the visit: what to gather
- Medication list: prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs, and supplements, with doses.
- Health history: diagnoses, surgeries, allergies, and family history, especially thyroid, pancreas, and gallbladder conditions.
- Recent labs or records: if you have them, such as blood sugar, cholesterol, or thyroid results.
- Weight history: what you have tried before, what worked, and what did not.
- Current numbers: your height, weight, and blood pressure if you measure at home.
- Pharmacy details: a preferred pharmacy in Colorado.
Set up your space
- Use a private, well-lit spot with a stable internet connection.
- Test your camera and microphone. Visits are held by secure video.
- Have a pen and paper or notes app ready.
Questions worth asking
- Am I a candidate for a weight-loss medication, and which options fit my history?
- What side effects should I expect, and when should I call?
- How will we track progress and how often are follow-ups?
- What will this cost, including the visit fee and medication?
- What nutrition and activity steps should I start now?
What happens during the visit
Your provider reviews your history, goals, and safety considerations, discusses whether a medication is medically appropriate, and outlines a plan. Prescriptions are provided only when medically appropriate. Compounded drugs are not part of our program.
